Plymouth Slant Six Engine Test Stand

If you are rebuilding your Plymouth Car Club Slant six you may want to test it before installing.

The Plymouth Slant Six Engine Test Stand can be made by bolting two engine rebuilding stands together. The cooling system is mounted on one engine rebuilding stand. The engine , dashboard, battery, and gas can are located on the other engine stand.

The dash board is added to monitor critical engine functions. The location of the dashboard is positioned to best allow for adjustments requiring reference to the gauges.

Testing outside the car can be useful in getting an engine properly tuned and tested before installation. Plymouth Car Club Colonial Region members will be happier knowing their engine is a winner before lowering it into their car of choice.

In one case the test pointed to a defective new oil pump. It was relatively easy to diagnose and replace on a test stand but would have been nearly impossible to do so in the engine bay.
