PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE June 2016
Colonial Region.
Don and I were very disappointed to miss the club gathering at the Thompson Motor
Speedway on May 14th. Sounds like everyone had a great time and would like to do
it again, probably without the breakdowns. Nothing serious , just vapor lock, brake
problems and overheating. For a good set of pictures and a write-up, go to our web
site at www.plymouthcarclub.org Don Palmer has also written a report which
summarizes the day.
I saw a recent announcement that the Walter P. Chrysler Museum is now open again
with limited hours. When you read the Regional newsletters, it’s amazing to see
how many car related museums and attractions there are in this country. From car
preservation and restoration places to personal collections and restaurants devoted
to antiques ; vehicles, toys, memorabilia ,etc. Even junk yards !
Have we missed any in our area ?
Betty Kibbe has gotten the club photo albums together and is ready to pass them
on to our new historian, Bruce Nichols. He already has a huge collection of club
memorabilia. You may have noticed some at his house.
Our next meeting will be in Little Compton, Rhode Island on June 12th. That is
a week earlier than usual. TAKE NOTE Did you know that Little Compton has
been listed in the Yankee Magazine as an interesting place to visit ?
I think the good weather has finally arrived. Keep those Plymouths in running order.
Don’t forget to call the Crooks so they know how much food to provide.
