The July 2016 Meet occurred on the 17th at the Colt State Park in Rhode Island on a slightly warm but otherwise absolutely fantastic weather day! Quin brought her parents again from the other side of the planet. We all benefited from the coastal breeze coming off the close by ocean inlet beach.
The car lineup focused on mainly 35 to 42 Plymouths with a new Challenger thrown in for good measure. Coupes and a convertible gave a good balance to the lineup and caught the eye of many people walking by and participating in the Parks picnic area. As usual at least one hood went up!
Lunch was started on the two cooking units which were substantially manned at times by Jim D. (hotdogs) and Doug C. (hamburgs) including assists by the many hungry droolers.
Of course being outside was improved by locating chairs in the shade to reduce the effects of the bright sun. The little ones cornered the more limber into either a game of Frisbee or ball and managed to get some pointers on playing the game at the same time.
In keeping with tradition a formal meeting occurred just after the 50/50 draw (which was won by President Judy?). The formal meeting reviewed opportunities to tap into the dreams of others for the future meets. Bruce N. reviewed some long away possibilities involving the Plymouth, Mass. 400 year celebration and possibility of Plymouth National participation. Judy moved to table that discussion for another time when more were available for discussion of the effort required.
See the July 2016 Secretary Report for the subjects covered in our formal meeting including the upcoming event.
