October will bring some changes to the club newsletter. After 2 years of struggling to find a permanent newsletter editor, the officers have decided to try a new approach. This will mean less time and expertise necessary to put out the information for the newsletter and a timely release. Don Palmer has been instrumental in getting reports posted quickly and making sure they are in printable form. ALL the information in the newsletter will come from the web site. If you have some helpful suggestions for improvements, please let us know. We will evaluate the system at the December meeting.
Sounds like the September meet on the Cape was fun, well attended and had perfect weather. Thanks to the Ruops for hosting. Please read the full report with pictures on the web site. They really saw some whales! Don and I were vacationing in Maine and were sorry to miss the weekend. The WPCC (Chrysler club) was having their annual meet in Maine while we were there. The car show was on Saturday the 18th at Owls Head Transportation Museum. That was a must see on Don’s list for this vacation. The weather was perfect for about 40 cars. Membership in the WPCC is open to all Chrysler products. There were a couple of Dodges, 17 Plymouths and the rest Chryslers. We were surprised at the number of Plymouths. One of the members showing his ’47 Plymouth Special was our former member Tom Dorward from Ashby, Mass.
Our next meeting will be on Sunday October 23rd (a week later than usual). We will tour the New Bedford Fire Station Museum, then go to lunch at the Inner Bay Café’. Directions and details are attached to the Town Crier and on web site. PLEASE call Bill Rogers if you plan on going to the restaurant.
The November meeting will be at Wright’s Chicken Restaurant in RI. On Nov. 13. Reservations requested. Please call Vince Ruops.
