COLONIAL REGION PLYMOUTH CLUB MINUTES APRIL 16, 2017
PRESENT: WHITMANS, CROOKS NICHOLS , AND TOM DORWARD
The minutes from March were approved as written. There was no treasurer’s report.
A letter was rec’d from Roland Sayward with his new address in Maine.
A letter was rec’d from John Gilman’s brother Ed. John passed away last fall. Ed wanted the club to know how much John enjoyed the friendship and his time in the club. Judy will send a sympathy card to Ed from the club.
We have a new member, Patti and Tim Laraway from New Lebanon, NY. They just purchased a 1937.
Judy has e-mailed the Hudson Valley and Long Island Club to ask for help if we put on a tour in 2019.
Bruce reported that he has had no communications from the Plymouth 400 committee.
The Chrysler dealer is not interested in participating.
Judy mentioned some items in the regional newsletters. One item was a survey of members to inquire as to their preferences on meetings, events, activities, and interests. Bruce suggested we might do something similar.
Bruce reported on attending the recent MAAC meeting and handed out a list of bills filed for upcoming voting. This is a very worthwhile organization and they do a good job keeping car clubs informed about possible problem legislation related to our hobby.
Bruce Nichols and Mike O’Connor are hosting the August meeting.
The May meeting is Saturday May 20 at the Thompson Motor Speedway. Reservations must be made with Bruce by Monday May 15th. Admission/registration is only $5 each for seniors. The meal will again be $10 each for a choice of hamburg/fries or grilled chicken sandwich. We will meet at the guest registration booth at 8:30am to all get in as a club. If you drive your old car, we can park together on the show field. The drive on the track is weather dependent.
