The Sept 2022 NH P15 Tour is a P15 inspired idea to involve many of the North East Plymouths, Dodges, Desotos, and Chryslers whose owners love driving their vintage vehicles. The Colonial Region was invited to participate as well as people from even Canada in this year’s tour with the following itinerary:
Once participating Colonial Region vehicles arrived we received aids to assist in defining the tour:
Additionally we received a magnetic plate that enabled participants to easily identify vehicles on the tour from the other vintage vehicles out and about during this fabulous weather in N.H.:
The “Live Free and Drive” logo was perfect; it appears that the PIC-NIC is a term used in Ireland & surrounding areas where the same type tour occurs using vintage vehicles. Walkie Talkies were used between key drivers at the front, center, and end of our dozen or so of cars to help get us thru congested areas without losing track of our lead car.
The Colonial Region Members joined up with the group in Peterborough, N.H. at Harlow’s Pub for lunch:
Carlos, Cathy, Vince, Carol, Jane, and Don were there in their 47 Desoto, 38 Plymouth, and 35 Dodge respectively:
There appeared to be ten more 40’s and 50’s vehicles so that when we all were parked near Harlow’s Pub, people came from many directions thinking it was a car show! Some of the cars included the lead car outfitted with brush guard to find the way:
Also close by was the local N.H. family & vehicle whose owner spent hours putting together the tour:
Another convertible ready to claim space for some of N.H. best weather:
A car ready for drives that would occur heading into the sun & shielded from it’s rays:
Some cars that were so clean & shiny, but soon would get some dust to blend with us:
Vintage vehicles tend to draw others out of the woodwork in this territory like this 50? Dodge truck:
Is every lunch/supper stop going to be like this where people come from the local bank, library, town offices, etc. to see the cars?:
Some even show up on a motorcycle:
After leaving Harlow’s Pub we headed out through small town after small town where people were waving as we went thru their centers. Some would stop to let our line up of Vintage Mopar vehicles pass uninterrupted thru the tiny villages. The beautiful rural country side combined with great weather conditions were intoxicating for both Friday & Saturday but my favorite was the stretch from Hampton Beach up immediately adjacent to the Atlantic. Sure we had moments in other locations for views and pictures:
And the Hampton Beach area was great (almost a car show):
The time on the Beach was delightful for digging in the sand, walks on the beach/in the water, or maybe getting a little air time:
But there was that spectacular drive from Hampton Beach to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, along the shore & among the ship captains residences of past that was a favorite:
Luckily we had a PRO taking pictures at many stops along the way that will keep that memory alive:
