PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

    2023 is starting out on a strange note : lots of strange weather for the world. January was the warmest I ever remember and winter vs spring can’t decide which way to go. Makes me wonder what the rest of the year will be and can we plan on anything as expected. I have actually seen some brave owners on the roadwith their nice classics.

      We have a foot of frozen snow/ice in front of the garage doors, so no chance of takingout the ’54 Plymouth. Don needs to drive it to the shop for some work, but guess that will wait a week or so.

      I hope you all have paid your dues for the year. We have waived them for the last 2 years so $15 is pretty reasonable. Send your check to Bob Cook.

       The article in the most recent National Bulletin about Earl Buton was very

well done. He was well known in the National Club. His 1937 PT50 station wagon was on the back cover. AND, our regular members, Kathy and Carlos Heiligmann were featured in the Hudson Valley newsletter for January.

Nice pictures and interesting write-up.

      The IOKA Valley Farm annual Pancake Breakfast Café’ opens February 11-April 8. This is a popular club activity with delicious food choices , plenty of food , and REAL maple syrup made on site. They also have instructive tours and products on sale. My favorite is the Bourbon Maple Syrup.

      SOoooo, our March meeting ( first of this year). Is planned for Sunday March 5 with a meeting here at the Whitman home, and on to the Café’ about 1;30 for lunch. Arrive here at 3326 Route 43 in Hancock at 11;30 , meeting 12-1;15 , then drive ¼ mile to the Ioka Café’ for lunch at 1;30. The Café’ closes at 3:30. The farm driveway may be muddy, you might bring the regular car.
