The April 2023 President Message is as follows:
WELCOME SPRING !!!!!!
We picked a good weekend for our March meeting. Right after a snowstorm and before the BIG ONE.
All 10 of us enjoyed the maple brunch and a good meeting. The minutes and photos are on the web site, although you must click on the icon to open the pictures. We decided to skip an April meeting and plan for a meet in May with good weather. 😊
We also decided to NOT do brochures about the club; instead to make 1 page flyers to pass out or place on windshields anytime. Don Palmer is also working on ID cards for your car to which he could add pictures. If anyone wants to try it, you would need to send info and pictures to him. Just call him if you have questions.
Most members have renewed. If you decide not to stay in the club, please notify me or Bob Cook. If dues are not paid by the end of March, you will be removed from our roster.
I had a nice long phone visit with the president of duel clubs, POC and WPC, which seems like an awful load. Our club was asking about joining/merging the WPC club. From our conversation , I decided that now was not the right time. Several of our members already belong to both clubs.
The club belongs to MAAC ( Massachusetts Association of Auto Clubs). Bruce Nichols was always our rep and attended a few meetings. Most all MA clubs belong. The group gets regular bulletins about upcoming bills at the legislature which affect our antiques, such as registration, tax, inspections ,etc changes. Would any club member consider checking the notices of pending changes ? All clubs would send MAAC letters to vote for or against. You wouldn’t have to attend meetings. Email me and I will sign you up.
If anyone has info about special events/ car shows, etc in your area, please notify me or Don Palmer and he will post them. We might even make the event a club meet.
The P15 club and WPC club are both planning trips to Niagara Falls this year. We almost did our own tour there a few years ago.
We are looking at events for June 17 and July 8, but nothing definite yet.
The next club event is the spring car show in Hancock, MA at IOKA VALLEY FARM sponsored by the HVFD and ACS. This is a favorite of everyone and a lovely venue in the country. The date is Saturday May 13
from 10-2.
