PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

I’m sending this letter out early because of the timeliness of decisions. I also have several news items to report.

One of our active members has recently had a serious accident which almost took his life. Richard Michniewicz of Sterling, Mass was rammed in the rear quarter of his antique 1940 Plymouth P10 by a drunk driver going 80 mph through an intersection. Rich was thrown from the car with multiple injuries, but the car did not survive. Unfortunately, he had just had the rear end restored. At this time, he is still in rehab and has a long way to go. He would love to hear from members and explain the fate of his car.

WANTED: Michael Steubing of the Hudson Valley Region is looking for a Plymouth 1937 or 38 coupe, or a 1939–41 pickup. Anyone want to sell? (516) 749-6908 or Msteubing@smpsta.com

No one has volunteered to host a Zoom meeting in December but how about January? I think the fate of the Colonial Region club is at stake here.

We need active members to keep this club going, even in a new direction. We must have a treasurer soon because dues are due in January and our annual dinner meeting is usually in February. Maybe we should change to a board of directors, but we still need active members and a treasurer. Several of us are members of the WPC club. They have lots of Plymouth, Dodge, and Chrysler members. I think we should merge, and have a Plymouth division. That’s what happened to the Golden Finn Society. They merged with the Plymouth club. I would really appreciate some input here.

This Covid pandemic is getting verrrrry tiresome. It does put a big damper on activities and socializing, especially for us older members.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Judy

  1. Hi, I’m a member with a36 Plymouth . I am looking for a 1950 Plymouth Fastback in driving condition. or 51 suburban in same condition. live North East PA and willing to travel for reasonable car.

    1. I’ll open up a notice in the “Wanted” category; you might find that you get a better chance of a response if there is 1) desired condition of car & 2) a method to contact you (which I can add to the notice). Your choices on desired condition might be project car or driveable car or recently restored or original barn find, etc.
