Nov 2023 President Message

The Nov 2023 President Message for the Plymouth Colonial Region has been issued. Contents of the message are as follows:

The Colonial Region meet on September 24 was postponed to October 1 because of rain. But the new date for the Simsbury Fly-In was a gorgeous day and the 6 members attending enjoyed the day. Don has posted a nice review and some good pictures. Not all the flight demonstrations happened because of the date change but there were still many planes, helicopters, and all kinds of cars and trucks on display. Thanks go to Steve and Karen Varhol for arranging the meet and holding a picnic table for the club, along with a sign. Steve even won a trophy for his gorgeous 1930 Plymouth 4cyl Model U car. Don W. was able to go because he has a scooter that fits inside the van, however, when we unloaded it, it wouldn’t work. That’s a long story. It’s still at the repair shop.
The October meet at the Village Haven restaurant was cancelled again due to lack of interest. But the Bruce Nichols Memorial car show at Waters Farm was a huge success. Over 200 cars were present and Judi Nichols manned the registration desk again with lots of family help. Bob Cook was unable to get Bruce’s ’32 ready for the Waters show so he took the ’59 Nash Rambler that he bought from Judi Nichols. October has been a busy month.
No meeting in November but the next meeting is the first Sunday in December and Thanksgiving is in the middle.
Our December Christmas party/meeting is December 3, hosted by Don and Jane Palmer. Arrival time is 11:30 with dinner at noon. This is a pot luck meal and reservations are requested. PLEASE let Jane know if you are coming and what you would like to contribute. ( So we don’t get all salads or desert). We always have a Yankee gift swap . It’s fun but optional. If you wish to participate, bring a $10 ish gift. The Palmers have been hosting this party for over 30 years and always look forward to it.
